ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the influencing factors of ankylosing spondylitis(AS)patients’life quality and medical coping styles.Method Two hundred patients visiting at the outpatient department of our hospital took part in the assessment on AS life quality and medical coping styles to look into the living quality of AS patients and its medical coping methods and influencing factors.Results The total score on life quality was(66.82±5.57),among whose dimensions the psychological function was scored the lowest by(10.65±4.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the scores on confrontation of coping styles were positively related with the dimension of social function in life quality(r=0.18,r=0.13,P<0.05),the scores on the avoidance of coping style were positively related to the dimension of physiological function in the life quality(r=0.12,r=0.14,P<0.05),the scores on yielding in coping styles was negatively correlated to physiological function of the life quality(r=-0.20,P<0.05).Regression analysis results showed that the AS patients’life quality was impacted by the course of the disease,coping styles and modes for paying medical expenses(P<0.05).Conclusions The AS patients’life quality is low and it is related to their coping style,the course of the disease and modes for paying medical expenses.Medical personnel should implement targeted interventions to guide patients into taking correct medical coping styles according to the specific condition of patients,in order to improve their quality of life.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the reasons of abnormal extubation for the chemotherapy patients with PICC,and put forward preventive measures. Methods A retrospective investigation was carried out about the reasons for abnormal extubation in 583 chemotherapy patients with PICC in our hospital from December 2007 to September 2009. Results There were 63 cases of abnormal extubation in 583 patients, accounted for 10.8% of the total number. The reasons of abnormal extubation included: catheter-related infection, misplacement,prolapse, dilapidation and fracture, catheter occlusion,thrombosis and abandoning treatment. Conclusions Complications caused by PICC are the main reasons for abnormal extubation. Important care measures to prevent and deal with kinds of complications timely can reduce the incidence of abnormal extubation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the impact of nursing intervention on self- care ability and health behavior of cancer patients with indwelling PICC in order to improve their life. Methods 218 cases of cancer patients with PICC catheter were randomly divided into the intervention group (107 patients)and the control group (111 patients),the control group were treated with conventional care, the intervention group was treated with targeted cognitive intervention by the PICC nurse specialists on the basis of conventional care. Interventions included improving health knowledge, self-concept, self-care responsibility and self-care skills in four areas, the intervention lasted 3 months. A questionnaire survey was conducted before and after intervention. Self-care skills and health behavior levels were compared between the two groups. Results Self-care skills and health behavior levels of the intervention group were significantly higher thanthose of the control group after intervention. Conclusions Targeted interventions can effectively improve the self-care capacity of outpatient oncology patients with PICC catheter and improve their health behaviors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the organizational commitment and influencing factors of clinical nurses at tertiary hospital in Shenzhen. Methods 347 clinical nurses from a tertiary hospital were select-ed by stratified random sampling and investigated and analyzed for organizational commitment with ques-tionnaires. Results Total score for organizational commitment of clinical nurses was (60.45±9.99),in which, from the highest to the lowest, the scores for five aspects were normative commitment (14.49±2.97), affective commitment (13.50±3.57), ideal commitment (11.69±3.20), economic commitment (11.27±3.23), opportunity commitment (9.50±3.30),respectively, their influencing factors included age, nursing age, mari-tal status, professional tide. Conclusions The organizational commitment of clinical nurses is at higher-middle level, their influencing factors are multi-dimensional, demographic characteristics have different im-pact on five aspects of organizational commitment.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effects of the cooperative actions of isoflavone, vitamin C and E on the expression of acute C reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in the patients with typeⅡdiabetic mellitus (DM). Method: Ninety six patients with DM were divided randomly into 4 groups, DM control group(B), and groups receiving low(C), medium (D) , and high (E) dose of the compound antioxidant of isoflavone, vitamin C and E respectively. Another 24 healthy subjects served as normal control group (A). Observe the changes of the levels of CRP and IL-6 during oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Results: The peak of serum levels of CRP and IL-6 in the patients of DM control group and lower dosage group appeared 1 h after OGTT and were significantly higher than the 0 h value (P
